- You need 2x CR1/3N or 4x LR44 batteries to operate the light meter built into the camera and use any shutter speed except 1/125s and 1/60s.
- This camera comes in 0.58x, 0.72x and 0.85x rangefinder magnifications, however can use different frame lines depending on the lens and the manual frame line switch.
- The M7 had a a-la-carte special service that leica offered which can come with specific paint finishes, specific winding levers, etc. and these specific models can be found on used sites and the Leica Classic store at a higher price.
- This camera was discontinued in 2018
